Owning Zut Alors means more than sailing her. Commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documenting how her systems actually work are part of the experience.
These pages will record selected projects and lessons learned aboard our 2023 Beneteau Oceanis 40.1. The emphasis is practical: what we observed, what we verified, what changed, and what may be useful the next time the work has to be done.

A living record
Our working manuals distinguish between information verified directly aboard Zut Alors, information taken from manufacturer documentation, items still to be verified, and lessons learned through ownership. That same discipline will guide the material published here.
The public site will be selective. It is not intended to reproduce the engineering manual or every maintenance checklist. Instead, individual project pages can preserve the parts of that work that tell a useful story or may help another owner.
First subjects
These are areas where we already have verified onboard knowledge. Detailed project articles can be added as the supporting photographs and records justify them.

Lessons learned
The air-conditioning selector handle must remain installed and in its ON position for the Cruisair controllers to receive power.
On the cabin controllers, automatic fan operation is indicated by a single fan symbol with “MANUAL” absent.
Through-hulls and seacocks deserve explicit verification after launch; an incorrectly positioned valve can turn a simple system check into unnecessary troubleshooting.
As the record grows
Future entries can combine the problem or objective, photographs, the work performed, the verified result, and any lesson worth carrying forward. That keeps the site useful without turning it into a copy of the onboard technical documentation.
